Default RE: CARFAX

I stumbled on this forum because I am thinking of buying a Ford Explorer and my borther-in-law said there have been noted problems with the 4.0L V6 FI SOHC engine. So I did a search for 4.0L V6 FI SOHC problems and I found this forum. I think is was so nice that someone with a carfax subscription was able to look up the VIN for someone. I have 2 questions:

1. Does anyone know of problems with the 4.0L V6 FI SOHC engine?
2. Is there anyone that can do a check on my VIN 1FMZU74E4YZA85339

I know I am asking about something other than a Mustang but I am hoping someone can help.
The local seller also had a 1998 Ford Mustang GT, looked nice, but I have kids to haul all over the place and need something with more room so maybe someday when the kids are grown I can actually buy another Mustang.
