Default Inspection Question

This may be a stupid question, but does anyone know ifa CAI and tune will cause my car to fail and emissions test? My inspection is up this month, and they do emissions tests in Texas. I guess I could always reload the stock tune and put the stock air box back on, but if I can avoid that, it would be nice. (kinda lazy sometimes) Thanks in advance!

I doubt it. What does sucking more air in a engine have to do with its emissions. I could see with an exhaust system--maybe. But not an intake

You should have no issue passing inspection. With no exhaust work done you will passemmissions testing without aproblem.

Hey i was just wondering what kind of emissions test they do in Texas? Is it like a sniffer or do they do something different?

it depends on the county
in Harris county 1996+ they connect obd2 and check for engine codes
pre 95 get the sniffer on a dyno to free wheel to 15mph and 25mph
and then the jerks at the inspection place could just because they don't know any better say fail
on time one actualy said carb meant nothing in texas and only affected cali
another said texas was more strict than cali (wtf ya right) cali is the strictest
so just watch out some are idiots

Alright, I'm in Collin County if that helps. So basically, it shouldn't? I called Brenspeed and they said it shouldn't either. I guess we'll see in a couple of days. Thanks.
