Paintless Dent Removal?

Paintless Dent Removal?
I'm so mad at myself...
I was washing the Stang this morning, and I tripped over the hose, and dropped the sprayer head into the rear quarter panel of my car.
I put a dent the size of a quarter into the driver's side quarter panel, and now it sticks out like a sore thumb.
So I'm going to have to go get it removed (I REFUSE to go to an auto body shop, because I don't feel like having them tell me, "Oh, it's gonna run about $500 to fix it.") and I was wondereing if anyone in the San Diego area had any experience with any paintless dent removal companies.

RE: Paintless Dent Removal?
I posted this yesterday, but I'll post it again:
I actually just heard on another forum i am on that using dry ice works. Heat it up a little bit either in the sun or with a hair dryer, and then put some dry ice on it for a few seconds. It is supposed to pop right out if its small. I'm not sure how well it works yet, but i plan to give it a try this weekend on my old car.

If you try it, let me know if it works!

Can't help you with companies, but I can tell you that PDR is the cat's azz if done right. Going rate around here (MN) is $75 a ding. I have had it done twice on two different pickups and you will never know there was a ding there (unless the paint is f'd).

Don't fool with it yourself until you check with PDR. They can do amazing things. Sounds like you had a rubber coated nozzel. If you don't buy one asap. Good luck!!

My dad came home and saw the dent, and he goes, "Here, I've got something that might fix it..."
Turns out that he had this thing called "Ding King". It's kinda like a glue gun, and you put it on the side of your car, put this disc shaped plate with a screw on the back on it, and then let it sit for 5 minutes. When it cools, you then put on the rest of the dent puller device and twist it, and it pulls the dent back out.
Worked great, actually; didn't get ALL of the dent out, but it got enough of it to where it wasn't noticeable anymore unless you were REALLY looking for it. I'm still debating having one of the PDR guys look at it and see what they'd charge, but if they quote me $100+, I'll tell them I'm not interested.

Some jack*** hit my door with his door and left a nice ding. I knew who it was because it was the only car (illegally) parked next to me all day..so I asked him about it. The guy was a real jerk about it then finally told me to my face that he did it. As soon as I asked him to help pay to fix it he said it wasn't him? So to make the guy go through trouble I called the cops to wright up a report just for being a dick to an 18 year old.(he was like 40 maybe?)
I went to my paintless guy and it cost me 40 bux to fix it to about 95% as good as new. I took my bill to the guy who hit my door and showed it to him. I said that this is your chance to do the right thing. He said "Im not paying for it." I calmly said..."Ok...I will remember that." and I left. My father knows this guy too...he owns a store in my town and has plenty of money....Jack***!
Sorry for the story..but yeah, 40 bux fixed my dent and it looks good.

I think that the guy that dinged your car is a real looser as all door dingers are! glad you got your ding out, since I got my mustang I try to park as far from eveyone as possible but you always get that looser that parks right next to you eventhought there are plenty of spots!

About a year ago when I had my truck some idiot parked next to me and hit my truck with his door. I saw him do it but when i approached him he denied it and wouldnt pay for the damage. So I said fine. I waited for him to go into the store when he did, i went under and disconnected the fuel pump. No major damage but im sure he had to pay to get it towed. hahaha
