Default Trunk Lid "Pocket Pod" Accessory

Hey,

I just wanted to share that the Pocket Pod in AM's Web site doesn't look like the one posted in the site's advertisement page. The page does say that the Pocket Pod for the '05+ Mustangs have three pockets (and not two as shown in the advertisement pic).

The first pic is of the one on their Web site and the second pic is the one you'll actually get for the '05+ Stangs.

In fairness, the site does say that the one pictured is not for the '05+ Stangs but I did not pay enough attention/read carefully. I would have liked to have the one pictured as the pockets are bigger but I'm not complaining about the one I received, at all. As a matter of fact, one of the reasons I'm posting this thread is to say how easy the install is, how well the construction/quality seems andhow well it fits the trunk lid. I think it's a pretty nice piece and dresses up the trunk lid a little and provides some storage space (spare acc. belt, small tools, op manual, lug key, etc).

(Added a show-off pic of the new floor mats. hehe)

Anyway, take a look:

This is still very very misleading. The one in the picture covers the entire trunk lid. The one they sent doesn't. I would have returned this product.

well, the first photo is of a different car!
look at the angles.

Looks like a good place to keep some spare ammo!
Don't know about keeping any spray cleaners in there, as they are prone to leaking!
Gotta keep that stuff in a ziploc bag!

Oh yeah. I know and you're absolutely right. Like I said, I didn't pay close enough attention. The trunk lid isn't even close to looking like the s197's. I'm not blaming AM or anything at all. If anything, I guess I'm saying "Don't be like me and not pay attention when buying," or something like that.

I actually like the the Pod thingy that I received. It'd be nicer if it had two large pocekts and covered more surface area though. But I'm happy with it and slapped that sucker up in there mucho pronto, mang.

No. Are you kidding; riding around with cleaning stuff splish-splashing around all over the place in the trunk?? I didn't think so. It's nice to have a couple of places to store some stuff like a small tool kit, flash light, owner's manual, lug key, spare acc belt, first aid kit, ammo...

I hate storing anything in the miniature glove box and the center console is strictly reserved for the stash!! [sm=icon_rofl.gif][sm=exactly.gif]

For what it is and made out of, the CDC piece is way to much expensive. Sorry if they are a sponsor here.

Dont' take this the wrong way because it is your car and you like it. But that cover to me looks like 3 lady hand bags attached in the trunk. Even the material looks like a suit.

Looking at your last post about material quality, if the CDC is way better material it might be worth it. I would like to see if anyone else has actually bought the CDC unit and are they pleased with the quality.

You think that its worth $180? I know 2 people that have said its cheaply made and that is is not worth it, it may look good but in this case, I don't think you get what you pay for
