Default Wrong Gas!

I have a 93 custom tune and was not paying attention at the gas pump and put in 87 octane. Is this going to be an issue? Should I put in an octane booster? Change tune (87 canned tune from JLT)? Or try to burn through it as fast as possible?Just keep putting 93 octane in to keep topping off the tank?

Change back to the 87 tune ASAP then once you get all that fuel out of your tank fill back up with 93 and re-tune.

Leaving the 93 tune and running 87 will cause some knock and maybe damage your engine.

+1 - go to the 87 tune till you drain the tank... the few mins of effort to protect the motor well worth it!!

LOL! I wouldn't have a girlfriend anymore if she put diesel in the car! I am just afraid of canned tunes in general but I guess as long as I stay out of it whileI am running it I should be alright.

Change the tune and sit in your driveway with your gas on the pedal until it's gone.

I did the same a few months ago but left tune as is. I just kinda kept my foot out of it and never heard booo. I was under the inpression that the computer/knock sensors will step in anyway, plus I go thru a tank of gas every 3 days so it didn't take long to get back on track. My $.02

If you have a tuner, the best bet would be to switch to an 87 map. If that is not an option or easily available, drive it like an 80 year old nun and when you get to 1/2 tank top it off with 93 again. You could probably also siphon it out... If it were me, I'd baby it and top off with 93 a couple times. These cars don't get THAT far on a tank of gas. As far as the octane boost, that isn't going to bump it up to 93 using anything commercially available off the shelf....
