Default Caliper Paint?

What kit is better? The G2 caliper,or the Dupli-Color Caliper Paint kit? I am going for the red simi gloss look.

Definitely the G2, my duplicolor flaked off in less than a year.

G2 is far superior. When it dries, its almost like the paint turns into a rubber coating on the caliper. I've never experience any flaking "not even close" its a little bit more money but worth it. Just did it to the mustang and it turned out great. I had also done it to my corvette and I was on for 3 trouble free years before I traded her in.

I used Dupli-color and I am satisfied with the results.

i have been back and forth with this mod.. i thoguht about painting them red.. but then i didnt want it to look ricer.. but i thought the red woul bd just kina mild and possibly add to the muscle look which i want..

but if i was to do this, what would be the process after i get the wheel off.. paint in hand.. ready to go.. i mean as far as cleaning and prep, tapping off.. what to paint and what not to paint.. if anyone knows a good thread on this, let me know..

thakns guys

When I did mine I removed 1 wheel at a time, cleaned calipers thoroughly, masked off and paintedwith brush. The kit had cleaner, tape, brushes etc with it, I bought extra cleaner. I would also buy an extra brush or 2, the one brush with the kit got a little messy/stiff after a few wheels. Other than that its an easy inexpensive improvement and I agree the red looks good.

Took about 3-4 hours total time, nice easy pace.

thanks, sounds good.. i think this will be a next mod, maybe on good friday..

question tho, u know how the caliper is shapped like a M with the two slots in the middle?.. can u paint that or , whats the deal with that.. bc i also was thinking about if there was any way to brand the calipers.. like how brembo's acutally say Brembo on it, and wiht that white lettering on the red caliper.. it looks sick.. any ideas for that?.. maye a stencil of ford or somethign.. or the mustang image..

i dunno.. but thanks for the ehlp..

Get the caliper decals in white.Paint the calipers red and then stick the decals on it. Check out http://xenonmods.com/for the caliper decals.
