Help with tinting tailights?
Hey guys,
So i decided to tint my taillights, but i wanted to do it myself, just for fun. Ive never done anything like this..
day1: failed... lol. i tried to do it piece by piece, did the center bar of one light and because of the curvature in the light, the sides crease out.. any advice/hints or how to guys on tinting your lights? please any help would be great, also if there are any templates for the cutouts? thanks!

Sprays work 100x better. VHT Niteshades (about $8 a can). Its best to just tape off what you don't want sprayed. Then spray on a few nice coats and let dry. Then apply clear thickly so it remains shiny, or you will have to polish it after you're done. Hope thats the answer you were looking for.
do u have pics done on yours? im intrigued now that u can spray it on... if you dont like it can u wipe it off?

I worked at a body shop for many years and what we would do is take regular black ppg paint and tint the clear coat with it. Wet Sand the lensesthen spray the clear on. After it's dry wet sand with 1500 or 2000 grit sand paper and buff. They come out incredible, darkbut the light transmittance is excellent. The lights are durable and can be buffed to a shinethat is like your car because it is the same clear they use when they paint cars. I have heard you can do thiswith different colors but we never really experimented.Check with a local body shop ifno luck PM me and I may be able to help you get them done out here in NY withmy old shop.
