Default More Power?

For a naturally aspirated 4.6 3v, other than air intake, tune, pulleys, and charge motion delete plates, is there really any other mod that will give more hp?

I've seen dyno results where after-market throttle bodies, spaces, and full-length headers don't really give that much - and in some instances take away hp!

Throttle body: Worthless unless you already have major internal engine mods like cams and/or heads. In that case they ARE worthwhile, but only under those circumstances.

TB spacer: worthless.

Longtube headers: +15-25 RWHP. no BS here...but they are expensive.

I don't know what you're looking for when you say "power"......but if you want to go faster than a more aggressive gear will create a feeling of more "power". Changing from 3.55 to 4.10 (manual) or 3.31 to 3.73 (auto) will "feel" like you added 20whp.

Weight reduction is another way to "feel" like you've added power.

Boreand stroke, port and polish, forged internals, hipo cams, LT headers, bigger fuel injectors, larger tb, 1 piece aluminum driveshaft...gears only help you accelerate faster, but i guess you can say it gives the effect of more power even though it really doesn't

That's why I asked the OP what they meant by "power". Unless you are building a dyno queen, who cares about hp or torque numbers? If the intention ofhismodification is tomake the car faster, then that is something much more complex then adding horsepower to the engine.

That is why I suggested weight reduction and gears as that will make the car accelerate faster.

In the end a really powerful car does not mean a fast car.

Injectors add power? I would only think injectors would help if the stock fuel system wasn't pushing enough fuel in, ie its a supporting mod.

Power means dick unless you can put it to the ground. Invest in some gears and/or at LEAST some good tires. Speed is a balance of torque, traction, weight and gear ratios. The cheapest and most effective way to increase speed is to increase traction or decrease weight. Then comes gear ratios that accent the engines torque curve. Power will be the most expensive realm to change and will yeild the least noticeable results.

Al, I heard you say Throttle bodies ARE worth it if you have cams. How much is it worth because I have a set f cams and if the numbers are good I might throw one on.
