Threw a check engine light!
So I crank up the Stang this morning adn the first thing I see is a CEl. Drive over to the dealership and the first thing they ask me is if the gas cap was screwed on.Turns out I not that stupid. The cause was a sensor on the fuel pump that checks for vapor and pressure in the tank. Now I have to go back next week and they have to pull out the back seat and install a new pump. Not a big deal, but it sure hand me worried for a bit. The best news of the trip was when the service rep told me Ineed to have a 1/4 tank or less on Monday. So now I have a 3/4 tank of gas and 22 stop lights between work and home waiting on me! Its going to be a fun Friday night!!!
I also asked about the leak and he confirmed they are seeing more and more come in the shop but still no word on a TSB.

Welcome to the club! I've had 2 CEIs on my 05: one for a sensor, and one for the fuel pump. I have a problem filling the tank- it kicks off like it's full but it isn't. The TSB to replace the fuel tanks says it's for manufacture date 04-25-05 and earlier. My date? 04-28-05. As a consolation, my service advisor showed me an addendum that said replacing the tank isn't always curing the problem and Ford has no idea what's wrong. He told me to wait for a recall. Of what?! Oh well. Still love my Stang. But I'm holding off on any mods until they get this figured out.

Did he also explain to you that he was basically just blowing you off? Recalls are for saftey related issues / failures. You not being able to fill your tank up without the handle clicking isn't going to get repaired under a "recall".

I had the gas fill issue, but in my case it was a small kink in the filler tube that was the problem. Your dealer is right that the tank replacement doesnt always fix the problem, especially on the '06 and up cars.
