I need to find out because i'm going to get the CDC also.
I believe we are talking about the front-most edge of ground clearance, not the lowest point. Since the lowest point is closer to the wheel, it doesn't affect steep inclines as much as the leading edge. My driveway, for instance...
hey wingman. ya i just measured the spoiler at the very middle where it is pointed a little and it was exactly 71/8" and if i reach straight back behind it in the middle of the original bumper it measured 81/4". but also i looked at both ends of the stock bumper and it is lower on the outside edges. it measured about 71/4" on the stock bumper at those points. but overall with the chin spoiler it was 71/8" at the lowest point.
guess i should have stated that the stock front bumper does drop down somewhat on the outside to edges but the fact still remains that the chin spoiler covers all this and when installed the lowest point which is in the middle, is 71/8".
hey wingman, if it means anything, i have also seen some coil springs out of stock mustangs and sometimes they measure 1/2" or so different in length. i have seen pictures on here where some seem to sit higher in the rear than others. mine always seemed to sit just a little lower than i friend of mine. and they are both stock. could be my eyes but some really have big space in the rear wheel wells. point i am trying to make is maybe thats why the front chin spoiler may vary in height between some cars. dont know just a thought.
Looks really good, the more I see them, the more I start to lean towards getting one myself. I'm still not positive yet however.
And I agree with painting them for you car. The black does look really good in that color too but you have to have a few more accent peices also. This dude had it right on the money: Chin spoiler, scoop, and spoiler all in black tied the whole thing together really well I think:
