Default mirrors?

I'm going to try to kill 2 birds with one post here does anyonehave the side mirrors painted or a painted cover? Where can I get them? Seriously Ford you make such a beautiful car with the ugliest mirrors possible. 2. I know theres probably a million posts on this but its just easier this way. For those of u running nitrous particularly the zex kit how do u like it whats your setup and how does the car run without it I've been so close to pulling the trigger on it numerous timesbut need to hear some feedback from it horror stories and the good stuff please. Sorry for the long post and thanks for info.

I also have a black car and the painted mirrors look sharp. I took the washer nozzles and the antenna off at the same time.

Been thinking I may get around to sanding and painting the rest of the window trim too.

Ok, I have the Zex system. I am running 100 shot for now. It doesn't affect how the car runs w/o it. I have and recommend the warmer, remote bottle opener and the window switch.
I love the whole set up. You won't be sorry when you do it.

I have the ones from americanmuscle.com and they look great. This is my second mustang with the Zex kit on it, No problems from it. I'm running the 100 shot, safe tune, HT0's, bottle warmer, safety blow down, purge kit, bottle opener, and a autometer guage to monitor the psi. It's great to have and fun when i need to turn it on. With out nitrous i have 293rwhp and 308rwtq with the 100 shot, real safe tune, 368rwhp and 390rwtq. my first dyno it was 380rwhp and 408rwtq but it was running close to a 14 on the A/F, so i added some fuel at WOT to fix it and make it run fat and happy.

I think the mirrors look better painted. If you remove them and prep them your self, your body shop might not even charge you anything extra for painting them if you are having other body work done (for example, shaved antenna or painted spoiler). I wrote up a set of instructions on how to remove and prep the mirror and it can be found here:

http://www.cherod.com/mustang/HowTo/PaintedMirrors.htm

If you are interested in getting rid of the antenna completely, you can install an amplified interior antenna. The reception is better then with the antenna. I wrote up a set of instructions for that also:

I'll wait on themirrors and hopefully they will paint them for me while repainting the car since the "F"ing paint is falling off.

Even with paint.. the mirrors don't look all that great..

we need another option... something retro, but tasteful

Funny, I have blackstang as well and did the mirrors, antenna (and more). I didn't do the washer nozzles because they are color keyed on one color stang; a black one. If they were grainy plastic, believe me I would have 'taken action'. Not sure doing the rest of the window trim is wise; doesn't seem hardly necessary on a black stang anyway. ...and I'm picky as hell.

Man, I love that antenna delete write up, but where can you buy that Metra amped one? Also, does anyone else make a similar product, that's got a little slimmer profile? The side mirrors are a huge disappointment, as is the fact that nobody's made any aero replacements. With all the fabricators, and modifiers on this forum, has anybody ever considered "grafting" mirrors from another car onto the S197s?
