Default Hurst vs. FRPP Short Shifter

I found a guy local to me that is selling a FRPP short shifter. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the FRPP the exact same as the Hurst except it keeps the factory **** and position? Its very lightly used, he wants $140 for it. Should I pick this up, or should I hold out until I can find the actual Hurst shifter. I do like look of the Hurst, but I seen this for sale and figured it might be just as good.

you are right they are the same shifter unit minus the shifter arm and ball

go for it, they are in short supply and they feel better than stock

I was at the stealaship the other day looking at the Shelby GT, the salesman goes "bet your 05 don't shift like that"..........It's got the Hurst short throw shifter with the chrome stick and classic white ball.........I said yes it does, and it only cost me $179.00 with free shipping, NOT $7000.00 over list. LOL

I'm leaning more towards the actual Hurst shifter. Although alot of people I ask don't like the look of it, I do. I've sold a bunch of junk I had and have about $200, I can make up the difference if its only a matter of $20 or so. I wanted to get a shifter, but now I'm thinking of saving more for an intake + tuner.

Can the Hurst shifter be built with the retro styled handle and ball like the FRPP? Also, is this comparable to the Steeda Tri-Ax? Shifter is my next mod.

Look at the FRPP catalog online, you can get the FRPP shifter with the white ball look. Not sure which your local guy is selling.
