Our Mustangs kind of have a bad situation for hiding the cords for a radar detector, so how did yall do your set up?

I think i might just run it straight up from the radio panel up w/out hiding the chords, but would like to hide them

any suggestions/ideas?

I have mine hard-wired through the back of the dash down to the back of the outlet. You cant see any wires, it looks damn good. Only problem is it doesnt turn off with the car, but i get over that. lol.

great question...other than hardwiring it, i have no clue and with the passport 8500 like I have, the mute buttonand attention light are the same piece that plugs directly into the dash [:@],so I don't really want to get rid of that. I have my cord ran under my steering wheel and up the left side where the radar can be easily seen since either my exhaust or radio is always blaring out the radar alert. It doesn't look too pretty but it works. Any great ideas guys?

I hard wired mine to the fuse panel by the passenger kick panel. I removed one of the shunts, and put in a 10a fuse, and just jammed the wire underneath the trim to run it to the middle of the car

You might try mounting the detector high on the windsheild (just under the mirror and run the wire either from the dome light pod or along the headliner, down the passenger A-pillar to the fuse panel. I didn't like the wire situation, so I just bought one of the Escort battery operated models. They are awsome and very reliable, no tickets yet!

I mounted mine just above rear view mirror, ran the wiring along headliner down the pillar under the dash and into center console glove box. There it plugs into the cigarette lighter. Saved my A** several times.

I also have my V1 mounted up high, just to the left of the rear view mirror. Ran the power cord tucked up under the head liner, down the passenger side a-piller to the fuse box behind the kick panel. Works great. Did the same thing on my Marauder. IMO, mounting them high is the only way to go.

If i mount it high in the convertible, its liable to disappear... plus i don't have a headliner to hide the wires in... Does the the mustang above the rear view mirror impede the radar's capabilities?

I have the cordless passport, its great but there two things i dont like. 1.) its needs batterys. 2.) It has this little red light that doesnt flash enough to let you know its on...radars are no good not on.
