hey guys.. i still have the stock intake.. but lookin at the airaid, and posibly a SCT..

i wanted to know which throttle body spacers create the famous whistle that everyone complains about... i think it would be a neat sound.. as long as its not too loud or annoying.. any input or any thing on this would help. .and if it would create the whistle wiht the stock intake?

I dont know about the whistle, but there are plenty of posts about the TB spacer being a waste of money???

 

Waste of money unless you need it for another application. The GT500 TB comes with a space but I do not have any whistle at all. But this is a specially made spacer also.

 

ya i kno know about how much of a paper weight it is when f comes to actuall performance.. but if i can find one for a descent amount. .and the whislte is a cool sound.. i might think about it..

but i also dont want to drop 80-100 in a peice of machined metal. .just for color and sound that i dont know that wil lhear/like.

 

The sound i hear most people talk about it not a "cool" sound but annoying more or less. But if you are going for it them spend the money and find out. Its only 60-70 on ebay.

 

If you get the Airaid CAI, I would say your best bet is Brenspeed's Airaid/Tuner package. As far as hearing a cool whistling sound from a tb spacer.....bring a canary in the car with you, it'll give the same performance increase.

 

I'd say the only way for a TB spacer to make a whisle noise would be an air leak.

 

I bought one (air intake)on Ebay for my last Mustang and had the whistle sound and hated it within a day.A month later it was in the garbage. I believe it's the smooth tube that causes the noise. When you look at stock tube/hose it's rippled which I think stops the noise. Don't think it's cool or it's like a 4-barrel from the old days. It's a very annoying sound.

The noise is by no means "cool," and reminds me of a ricer when I hear it
