Default Side Stripe Delete

Hey all! Well, I've decided I want to remove the "MUSTANG" stripes from the lower body panels, and was just wondering how hard they are to get off. Are they stuck on with industrial strength glue? I bought my 'Stang used, and although the decals look nice, I think the car would look cleaner without them.

Peace!
Scott

I am getting mine removed the week of May 7th.

My 05 Mustang was hit this past week on the passanger's side rear. The adjuster came down today and wrote it as a $1448 but it could be higher. The guy that is doing the repairs has done work for me in the past.

My stripe started to flake on the drivers side a bit. I was talking to him about that and I decided it would look better without it. I have the exterior sports package. It has the black trim under the doors under the stripes. I dont mind those since they help rocks from flying up and hitting the paint.

The stripes will fade in time anyways. I hate when I wax the car and the wax lies on top of the edge of the stripes.
My problems will be over soon.

I had some week here. The side got hit and then the same day after being worked up rammed the curb and messed up the frontwheel.for $230.00 thats ordered already.
The back rim is being replaced also. They put down a used one ($187.00)it must be nothing wrong with it. The insurance guy said that but he said if the new wheel was $208.00 than get the new one. Well, i know the price and I am sure getting a new one.

The rear bumper is coming off due to its slight scraped but the fix the rear fender. The Mustang will be coming apart but it will be fixed right. The insurnace guy puts down 4 days to fix it and etc,etc......
The guy that I know that is fixing it said to leave it there for the whole week so he can do it right. He said it will look sharp when hes done.

I had bought Billet Door Pins (already here- not installed) and 3d Carbon Billet Speaker Covers (on order).
I can't wait to get her fixed and have this stuff put in her.

Sorry about the post just wanted to share some stuff with you.

He said the stripes can removed with a heat gun (not too hot) . Get a edge started and slowly pull on it to remove it. You then need to get any adhesive removed. Goo-Gone or something like that will work. Then you wash it and then wax it.
He is probably going to buff it out since he is doing this repair work.

If you wait to long to remove these stripes, he said the word MUSTANG will start to be seen on the paint.

Hairdryer, easy removal. (stay away from heat gun, everyone has a hairdryer) ...pull back (not up) applying moderate heat; too much heat will over soften the vinyl and make it stretch, tear etc., prolonging what is a very simple task. Agree... much cleaner!!!
