Default crooked shifter

I'm a newbie on this forum and I want to buy a used05 Mustang over the summer.

While looking for a car online I found A LOT of mustangs with crooked shifters.

Is it just the top plastic part thingy not properly fit to the stickor is it the whole transmission crooked? I mean is it just the ornament on top of the stick that is the problem. I see that the leather is also bent towards the right, which I guess means that the whole stick is turned to the right.

Does anyone know where the top of the shifterornament thingyscrews in to the metal transmission thing....is it ON TOP of the leather wrap or UNDER it?
Has anyone ese experienced this thing, b/c I see it kind of common on used mustangs.

Thank you so much and sorry for the newbie problems

If that's the kind of **** that bothers you... this is not the car for you. Plus.. these things screw on.. so maybe the previous owner adjusted it to their liking.

I tried getting the sellers to answer me but I know my best shot is asking you guys.

oh okay....so it's just the plastic thing that screws on top of the shifter and not the whole things thats messed up right?

Because I see the leather on the bottom of the shifter being bent towards the direction of the shifter so the whole thing seems turned to the right...not just the plastic part on top of the leather wrap...

thanx

Perfectly normal, the shifter on top just screws and unscrews (where the boot connects). All you'd have to do is twist it back to the left some.

do you know where the top part screws in - is it under the leather or on top of it...b/c this might help me figure out if the whole shifter is messed up or just the ornament is not screwed in properly - b/c the whole leather thing is also turned to the left !

thanx fellas
