Default oil question

If changing your own oil, which oil would you recomend using?
Filter?
Any thought about that "Q" oil? Quaker state oilI think.
Castrol?
Mobile?
Not sure about the synthetic oil. What it does different than the regular oil.
Got 6600 miles on it.
Thanks yall

Well I prefer castrol ,but mobile 1 for synthetic. Also I just stay with the Motorcraft oil filter. And synthetic is just more durable.More resistant to thermal breakdown.

+1 on the Motorcraft filter, and available at Walmart too. Also i agree to stick with a synthetic oil if you can. All the synthetics outperform any brand of conventional stuff.

While I use Motorcraft filters and oil because I figure if it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me and Motorcraft is some of the cheapest Semi-synthetic oil on the racks. Be aware, the 5w-20 oil needed in the Mustangs is SEMI-SENTHETIC, not regular conventional oil. I'm not sure if anyone even makes 5w-20 in a conventional oil, but that would be bad to put that in after having a semi-syn for 6k miles.

Your Motorcraft oil is a blend. Remember, Ford is in business to sell you cars. They don't make any money if yours last longer by using a pure synthetic. I got my "blend" out at 500 miles along with the break in trash. Think about it.
