Your car looks fantastic.

Why didn't you change the hood ?

Can someone explain to me the functionality [if any] of the GT500 hood. I know that it has vents on top - do they work? Can they be opened and closed?

Thanks as usual.

I think the reason we don't run emblems is it just looks cleaner without it IMO. Main reasonI did the conversion was to ditch the cluttered up grille and the rally racing foglights, so adding an emblem kind of defeats the purpose.

mail906-The Cobra hood has vents on it to cool down the motor, the supercharger gets crazy hot, and the heat causes a parasitic loss in hp. Its also a butt ugly hood(the vents look like an afterthought), and too bulky looking and screws up the smooth lines of the car.

Understand, each to his own. I favor the running pony emblem, cause it is a Mustang and IMO is imcomplete without it. Agree with you on the GT500 hood, I might have gotten one if not for those vents, I just don't like the way it looks. In the future I may get the king of the road hood. But for now I like the way the stock GT hood looks with the conversion.

Thanks Daniel, forgot to mention, those are my Mustang guard dogs. They may look little and innocent, but they will go right for the throat if you try to mess with the stang. LOL

I had the tribar pony on mine as well but took it off for the clean look. One of the main reasons was my 3 year old hated it. He wants the Cobra on there. He doesn't understand all these really stupid debates going on here, he just likes the snake. I took it the pony off for now and he has'nt said anything yet

Do the vents open and close? What keeps the rain out? Thanks.
