Ford is not building these. They are being built by different specialty shops. For instance, R&A Motorsports is building their own version of the Twister Special.

 

I hope it has a surprise under the hood because it doesn't look all that to me, compared to the boss 302 that just came out at least.

Thats what I thought and started to chuckle! It's probably one of his friends who gets $$$ to make up crap too! Now, everyone hurry to ebay to put that foolish "twisted" sticker sticker on their Mustang. Oh yeah, don't forget to "prove" you own the car. It may add 5 -10HP....

 

There's a picture with a caption in this months Mustang Monthly that explains what is happening with the new Twister edition.A company (R&A Motorsports) is changing GT's into the Twister edition, just like all the other aftermarket folks do. They are building the same number of modern Twisters, (96)as were built originally back in 1970. I was amazed to find out that they only made 96 units back then. I always thought the Twisters looked "overdone" with badges and stripes. Now I realize why they bring such a nice price when up for sale.

Ford has already done the Cali special, so next will be the Bullit and then the Mach 1. This is how they sell Mustangs right before the next change over. BTW, I had read where Brad Pitt has signed to be Lt. Frank Bullit in a remake of the movie.

 

Brad Pitt as Lt. Frank Bullit? Sounds like it's going to be a chick flick before they even start filming. Hope the get the chase scene right. I'd hate to pay to go see the new Mustang Bullit, being shot in a chase scene with the new Challenger and find out that they deleted or shortened that scene due to the unpopularity of it because the movie needed more mushy stuff to draw the ladies to it.

I have proof that stripes add horses! These got me 2 additional horses, one on each side! Ha-ha! And they came from ebay to boot.
