Chickened out, having stripes done by pro
Well my stripes arrived from BSM(sweet looking), but my bravado exceeded my skill level and I'm having the stripes professionally installed. Since I plan on having the car a while, I'm taking it to a shop where they guarantee their work. How much? Well, the first place(Mike's Tint in the city of Orange) quoted me at $450-$500, I had hoped for $250-$350, so I went to Xtreme Tint in Whittier and they said they could do it for $350, so my appointment is for this Wednesday. I just installed the Roush rear springs this morning(with a friend's help) and it took 20 minutes total(too easy) and the car sits perfect with no side to side axle movement issues. Well, I'll take some pics and see if I can figure out how to re-size the files so I can post them here, if not, I'll post them on myspace and leave my address so those who are interested can see them. Can't wait!

Nothing wrong with taking it to a pro. If you did it and was bubbled or not straight you be kicking yourself. If you have Kodak software you can go to "save as" and it has resize % down to thumbnail.

Good call on going to a tint shop instead of a performance shop. I'd much rather have a guy who specializes in window tint install them than a performance shop that dables in graphics installs.
I think i'd have to charge $350 as well, it ain't as easy as it looks and takes more time than you think.

On a side note about the pics...if you use AOL just email them to yourself by inserting them into the email and using the "Optimize for Faster Sending". It lowers the resolution and resizes it automatically and all you do is just download them from yourself.
Good luck with the stripes!

some advice: feel free to bring a pic of my stripes and tell them whatyou DON'T want it to look like. ( I have $56 and about 3 hours into mine! so I can gripe! lol) Since you're paying for it make sure they do them right!
I mainly did ours in vinyl because I was unsure if I wanted stripes, I haven't decided if I want to redo them just yet I want to see how they wear for a while!
Notice how I didn't keep the outside edge straight in the rear?
Notice how the lower edges taper in on the two levels of bumper stripes?
Missed the wing slightly! Wanted to finish!

Are those stripes supposed to be for a front bumper with a liscense plate recess? I'd think you'd need different stripes for that bumper.
