spirited driving session
today while i was driving, i missed 2nd gear in the morning and 3rd gear in the afternoon, both shifting at about 6k. i was perplexed, usually thisdoesn't happen to often. so i decided to take her on a spirited joyride to show her who's boss.
my car has the 93 race tune installed, but after weeks of daily driving some of that beginninggrunt and powerwere gone from when i first installed the tune, due to the ecu re-learnng the driving habits of a car that's you're daily driver.
i'm sure everyone knows this, but after some spirited driving aka 'driving like you stole it' that power was back. the car was louder after my spirited driving sessionand it begged me to push the throttle down more. it seemed likeshe re-discovered that 93 tune deep within herself. sweetness.
moral of the story: the grind of daily driving will make your tune 'go away,' but some spirited driving will bring it right onback.
anyways,i did get a chance to practice one launch.3rd time i practicedlaunching this car in the time i've had it.i launched at about 3.5, dropped the clutch and floored it. ispun through first and halfway through second. the onlookers were shouting, 'yay, coool!' or 'awesome!'stuff like that.but i really wanted to hook. sadly that didn't happen.
should i have given it less gas, instead of flooring it? any pointers?
also i think the crappystock bfgoodrich's on my 16's played a huge part. i'd really like some new performance tires oreven some brand new light weight rims! lol.but i'll wait till these wear out. so i can get the money's worth out of them.
