Finished Supercharger Install w/ Pics
Already mentioned in another post that this was finished, but I just got around to downloading the pictures from the camera. Enjoy...
Install went incredibly smooth. The only discrepancy from the installation manual was the intercooler reservoir -- they included a newer, larger reservoir that I ended up having to mount above the fan rather than on the engine oil fill neck.
Still working on arranging a dyno tune -- until then I'll just have to suffice by saying it is dang cool...

It is an Eaton (M112) sold by Magnacharger and others. This particular kit came from Steeda because they run a different pully to produce 8 psi rather than 6. The other difference is the cold air kit rather than reusing the factory airbox.

what unit is that...sorry for my ignorance..I just cant tell...looks almost like an eaton

Egon Grats on your new toy, looks terrific, enjoy it safely
I love how it turned out. Choosing the "right" SC has been a topic of many threads, but for me I wanted gobs of torque along with the added horsepower. I think most of the products available are fantastic, but the Steeda package worked out great and had all of the "features" I was looking for. I was really torn between the KB, Saleen, and Steeda kits, but I ended up choosing this one (I really like the factory look to it).
There is little or no whine under "normal" driving conditions, but around 1/2 throttle it starts to make some noise and then gets noisy at full throttle -- I need a louder exhaust. The torque/hp is immediate which is definitely going to require practice so that it's not just a smoke show. It pulls really hard, really fast all the way to 6000 rpm -- so quickly that I've hit the rev limiter a couple of times (not used to the new sound yet, and I need to get my response times quicker). I don't really have a good place to judge an actual 1/4 mile time or speed, but the place I do go to play I'd have to guess I'm around 110 - 115 (and really scared) in about that distance. I am, however, at just over 5000 ft elevation
No change in mileage yet, other than I've been lead footing it around town lately. Previously getting around 17 in town (lots of stop and go), and right now the computer says 16.2. I'm anxiously waiting to see what my mileage is on the next road trip.
The install took about 15 hours, but that was with a long lunch and dinner break plus one trip to the store to purchase some additional coolant hose (had to relocate the intercooler reservoir). I was amazed at how few bolts actually had to be removed, and those that were got reused quickly so they didn't have much time to lay around. I was mostly worried about removing the front bumper in order to install the heat exchanger, but that turned out to be a snap.
Can't speak for any of the other kits, but if the Saleen, KB, or Whipple are as complete and as well put together as the Steeda/Magnacharger I'd highly recommend any of them. I'm a pretty experienced mechanic, but someone with common knowledge and patience could just have easily done it. There are just some tight spots that need to be reached that require you to turn into a contortionist, but no big deal -- basic tools really was all that was needed (get a good torque wrench that reads in./lbs.).
I'll try to take some video sometime -- I only have a digital still that takes crappy video, but we'll give it a try.
