I notice these cars produce a lot of engine heat that comes through the vents and floor if they're open. If you have the A/C on, this doesn't happen. But if it's off and the **** is on Cold, it still gives out warmth. If you don't want to run the air, sometimes I have both windows cracked open and air circulates through the car pretty well while driving.

It's not that our cars run hot... what your feeling is the difference between an Aluminum block and an Iron block. Iron blocks hold more of the heat in and send it into the exhaust and out the pipe, making underhood temps lower and EGT's Higher. Aluminum transfers heat alot better than iron. It allows alot more of the heat of combustion to beradiated out through the blocks and heads, which makes the engine bay hotter.Thats why radiators are aluminum finned and not steel or some other harder metal.

to the OP: My car, I don't notice anything like that.

So the question is, which type of block is better ?

Yes the floorboard area gets hot and on hot days it seriously sucks. Run the A/C so that it goes to the feet and the dash and it helps a lot. I noticed it really soon after getting the car last year and we took a trip up to Napa and the Temp was like 105 outside and I told the wife holy crap my feet feel like there on fire. We had the windows down driving since it was nice. Needless to say windows went up and A/C went on. Also like someone said above i also notice it when i drive the car hard like on winding roads out having some fun.
