Default 12 volt accessory ports

Has anyone tried to convert one or both of the 12v ports to accessory only? In other words, so they aren't hot all the time?

Yes, I have excellent technical ability. I have found the fuse in the engine compartment for the outlet. I was going to remove the fuse, and feed the outlet with a switched source within the same panel, but everything is hot all the time with the exception of three that are labeled "engine 1, 2,and 3." I did not want to mess with those. I have an '07 GT convertible.me9er@aol.com

OK, I am at work now. Let me get to the electrical diagrams when I get around
the house and get back to you. I know that the fuse panel in the engine compartment
is hot all the time for every fuse out there. Its the power distribution box. You will
need to go to the SJB located on the passengers side floorboard under the kick
panel access plate for key off power. Do you want start+run, run+acc, etc?

Accessory and run. I found a fuse for the mirror--not the power mirrors, I think it was for the auto-dim. It is hot when I need it to be. I used it for my nuvi. I can use that again, but I need access to the hot wire of the dash 12v without taking apart the dash. I guess that is where your wiring diagrams will help. Hopefully itroutes somewhere near the interior fuse panel. Thanks so much for the help.

OK I found where the wire runs. The bundle comes thru the firewall
via a big rubber gromet above the passengers side floor mat.
From there it splits in 2 or 3 directions. You want the bundle
that runs right above the floor mat horizontalfrom right to left
towards the center dash where the cigar lighter is.
Inside this bundle is the power wire for the cigar lighter.
It is a 16 guage wire and probably the biggest in the bundle.
Carefully untape the bundle and look for the biggest wire.
If you have heated seats that is a different matter and get back
to me and I will get you the specific color of the wire.

OK, I was wrong. Wrong power point.
That was the console power point. You
want the big connector between the SJB
and the passengers side door jamb. You
will have to remove the door sill and kick
panel to gain access. Its the big 16 guage
LiteBlue/White wire. The power flows up thru
the connector. This is for the dash mounted
power outlet.
