MMR Intake installation
I recently installed the MMR Inake on my 05 GT and it says to remove the little filter inside the intake tubing in order to get max performance. I noticed that if you do remove it there is not a way to reinstall it.
My question is....Do you think by removing it there will be a chance that somthing could get sucked up into the intake causing damage and if I dont remove it will the cold air kit even work well?

You wont have any problems with junk being sucked into the system. That piece is used for emissions control and at thsi point, noone is having any issues with its removal. I would recommend you keep it for use later - if needed.

Hey evil, then your tuner is an idiot and dont go back. I got 18hp out of mine. BUT since it is a TUNER who does it, they do have to tune it - for example: the A/F ratio has to be changed.
I am sure your response will be that "he knows his stuff". Thats cool, but I have first hand watched the same tuner tune a few 05 with the MMR and get about the same results.
my 2 cents

Are you able to replace it once it is removed? It looks to me like you cannot. Also, do I have to get my car tuned now that I have added this piece in order to get a gain in HP from it?

Yes, you can put it back in - just be careful taking it our so that it is not damaged. You can get a small increate 4-7 hp (more like 4 hp) if you take it out and you wont need a tune for that. the computer compensates for it.

What did you use to take it out? Also, my check engine light came on. Did you have to get the cide erased or did just erase itself in time?
