im a crappy driver...
Went to the track for the 1st time.
C&L Intake with B-Chips 87 octane tune.
1st run = forgot to turn traction control off, launch got killed, then i missed 2nd gear = 14.674 @ 99.94 mph
2nd run = 14.118 @ 100.53 mph - best one of the night
3rd run = 14.726 @ 101.47 mph - launched too hard and spun thru all of 1st and most of 2nd
Needs some work.
There was a convertible auto GT witha C&L intake + predator with a custom tune on 94 octane that ran 13.5 mph - didnt get a trap speed. That was impressive.

Just practice man. It seems you were either bogging or spinning. You just need to practice and get the launch down and hit the gears. Good luck and I'm sure you'll improve.

You'll only get better with more attempts
. My 1st trip(last October) I ran just once(dumb co-worker that went with me had to leave early[:@]) and I had no idea what to expect(track feel, conditions and reaction time-wise) and I only ran a 14.9@98(ouch!). I went the following December and got 5 runs in, but since there was a 40mph headwind[&o], I ran a 14.6@98 first trip and whittled it down to a 14.0@100 before I left for the day. Went this past April and under pretty good conditions ran a 13.7@101.5, so there's hope and I'm not a drag racer, just have gotten used to what my car likes and how it'll react. I'm shooting for mid 13's before the engine bolt-on bug bites(one disease I enjoy
).

My wife bought me a tree for christmas a couple of years back and it helps soothe me. Just remember to stage at yellow and visualize when its green...don't blink see everything around you and go. Also if you are a stick car pull your seat all the way up to the steering wheel (that you can stand) to insure you don't miss a gear. street comfort and track comfort are two different worlds...
Well doode, not bad for your first time, half of the issue with good lauches is lots of practice, the other half is to conquer the adrenaline rush that causes you to screw it up, and oh, never forget turn off the damn TCS!
