might sound stupid but what in the heck is that for? the only thing i noticed is that when it is off my car sounds better when it down shifts? hmm idk

5th gear. When its off, the car stays in 4th when in Drive.

Its basically 5th gear in an Automatic, when its off you go down to 4th gear which is causing you to rev high RPMs that is why your car sounds better.

Yup, I use it all the time. Like when you'rejammin' down thefreeway and then start coming up on another car too fast. I just push the button (takes me into 4th) and it slows me down nicely, which isway better than hitting your brakes and looking like an idiot.

I actually had my car for about two days before I noticed the O/D button.
It was a nice surprise. I use it all the time.
