Default Any advice on a scratch down to the metal ?

Yesterday I took my 07 to the touchless car wash and paid 8 bucks for a wash.
Drove in... Wash started...about10 secondsinto the wash, itstopped and the dryer came on
and I heard all this banging... The thing stopped over the top of my car. The car was covered
in SOAP ! Anyways I pulled into the next bay and sprayed the car off, called the number on the wall. (got anwsering machine, left message)and went home to dry it.
While drying I noticed a scratch on the passengers door. Its down to the metal !
OMG.... I'M SICK !! I don't know how I could of got a scratch at a touchless car wash, or maybe it was at the dealers I took it to last week. Left it overnight for the first oil change, and a minor repair.
Who friggin' knows , but NOW what do I do ????? Touch up paint or take it to the bodyshop??

If your not comfortable doing it yourself then yes take it to a body shop.

BTW how long is the scratch? Are you wanting the body shop to fill the scratch or repaint the whole door?
Oh yeah, Thanks for the compliments.

The scratch is about a 1/4 of an inch. It looks deep, right to the primer/metal...i don't know.
Right in the middle of the passenger door.

Hopefully they will just have to fill it. I haven't even been able to put a muffler on it yet. Damn !

Oh ok,shouldn't be that big of a deal. Just remember don't shoot for the cheapest place, most of the time you get what you pay for! From my experience anyway. - Good luck
P.S Yeah they can fill it,just don't let them jerk you around. Ya know-Ohh yep we got ta paint the whole door..$300.Then they just fill the scratch and blend it good enough to make you think they repainted!!

Thanks Eleanor06, It's my baby... Should I take it to the dealer or a regular bodyshop?

Well...if you have a good dealership(good reputation) and get a good price
I say go.Or if you know a good body shop take it there. Just weigh out your options.
You can always call the Better business bureau about the shop your wanting to go to and ask if they
have any red flags or such.
