Default lowering just the front?

hey guys.. i was admiring my stang today at work (go figure) and was htinking, what if i lowered the front only..

what kind of cost and labour am i looking at?..

by labour i mean for me, i will be doing the install.. but as far as time and what not.. and what kind of handling effects and such can i expect..

anything that you have to say about it, please do.. and if you are wondering why i only want to lower the front, its becuase i want that raked, muscle car look.. eventually i want to put some smaller tires up front, and some taller, and widest that will fit on stock, on the rears..

any kind of pictures would be great also.. and no i dont want to lower the back at all.. i think it sits good now, but condsidering the front..

thanks

Easiest and cheapest way to lower the front would be to replace the springs. I dont know what springs cost for only the front because they usually come in sets, but I happen to have a set of Eibach front springs that are brand new that I may sell because I only wanted to lower the rear. I put 28 inch drag radials in back and 26 inch skinnies up front and had to much rake. If you can replace the springs yourself then all you would need to do is have the car realigned afterwards and you would be good to go.

I think the factory rake look is enough...most people try to even it out and get rid of the hideous gap in the rear, not make it more noticable.....but its your car dude.

its a cool look.............but doesn't work for this car at all, unless you have huge drag radials in the back, and even then, its really just not the same.

the car has a high *** rake to it to begin with. i'd rather just lower the rear and have a level, badass musclecar.

its a good look for a 70 SS NOVA or even a 69-70 chevelle, but not an s197 mustang. just IMO.

I wouldn't do it. Actually i did it. I put my stock rear springs back in one day and drove around. Felt very strange. It was too much rake IMO. A better option is to lower front and back with frpp springs, which should keep the stock rake and add the taller tires to the rear.

Also my traction got worse.

what moosestang said about traction is definately something to consider because it will definately be worse. it will be a lot harder to transfer the weight to the rear wheels. after I lowered the back it helped me a lot and I dont have a problem now, but I still have more rake to mine than stock and it looks damn good, but I dont think it would be the same without the wide tires
