Shop manuals?
Hey all,
I'm probably getting my '07 GT tomorrow, anyway, I'm such a gearhead I ususally buy all the shop manuals for the car I'm driving just so I know all the ins and outs, even if I don't end up working on it. Makes for great bedtime reading.
But this is the first brand spanking new car I've owned... any Haynes/Chilton/Bentley shop manuals available for the S197 yet?
Thanks-

I got my 2007 FORDWorkshop Manuals Vol 1 and 2 with the electrical diagrams
off of the bay for about $125. I went the paperback route as the DVDs have glitches
and such. I dont like looking up info with a computer. I like it to be right there with
me at the car when I am working on it. The Haynes and Chiltons suck and are way
too general for me. The Workshop manuals are loaded with great info specific to
the 2007 Mustang without all that other general widespread info amongst many
different models like the Haynes or Chiltons. Full of diagnostic troubleshooting
and such . Invaluabe information if you ask me.

Yes, you'll have to buy official Ford ones, which are only available privately, like through Ebay. $125 sounds right for the real thing on paper.
I paid $5 for a rip-off CD version of it. I hate working on the car and having to use my laptop, but money means more to me than convienance.
Anyways, these are your only options!!!

Yea, I generally shy away from Haynes or Chiltons too, but I take what I can get. Chilton officially lost me when, for a Chevy S10 transmission replacement, they instructed to remove the cab of the pickup from the frame!
I'll go hunting for the Ford workshop manuals - thanks!

I bought a suscription to Motorcraft Mustang shop manuals for 1 month about $16, and basically downloaded the entire library in PDF format. Probably the DVD contains even more information.
Check out this page, you can get all there is directly from Motorcraft, DVD's, Printed manulas (tons of them) etc, but as mentioned before you can getfar better dealson ebay.

The above link is for only ONE of the three books for the Mustang. There are 2 more, and total for all three is $344, shipped in 7-10 days. You cannot buy the books from the dealer. My local dealer gave me the ph# for the above place, and I bought them all. I have a subscription to AllData for my shop but the info for '05 is limited. '06 is almost non-exsistant from them so far. But with each quarterly update there will be more as time goes.
