Exhaust

RE: Exhaust
changing the tips is not going to change the sound.
go with an axleback to start (loudmouth and magnapack are 2 of the loudest by themselves), and then if you want it a lot louder, get an off-road h-pipe or x-pipe

RE: Exhaust
i just got flowmaster 40 series installed
idle is a little louder, and i swear at WOT its quieter than stock. kinda wish i got the super 40's
so if you are considering flowmasters, try the new 44 series or an off road h

RE: Exhaust
doode
The 'series' in Flowmaster brand is the length of the muffle.
Flowmaster makes 1-2-3-and even a 4 (I think) chambered mufflers in various series sizes, Although I assume you are talking about a 2 chamber 40, cause Flowmaster don't make a 3 chamber 40. but if you said you put some 50 series , then you could have them in 2 or 3 chambered. Don't kill the messenger. Go to there site and see all the different sizes and chambered configs.
This guy probably has a 6 or he wouldn't have said "it's a dual" , Either that or he is like 12.
Lets assume for one moment he is actually asking a valid question. OK. Exhaust is like Mothers, We all have one and they are all different. You like your mother but I may not. I don't like that open exhaust sound , I did when I first got a car, but not anymore. I like the rumble of a 07 cobra. And to get that you buy Ford mufflers and then add 200 hp to your GT , or you buy Flowmaster for the 05-07 GT that are 3 chambered. This will give you a little more rumble than stock and will get a little louder as they get used.
OR option 3. Leave the mufflers off and run a pipe out the back.
