Default exhaust?

Ok so the slp louthmouth are high pricedtips. Would it not be allot cheaper just to remove the stock exhaust and have the muffler shopfab up some straight pipes with tips? Or is there more to the tips then meets the eye?

I say you try it that way, I did. I've heard a 6 before with slp's and it sounds the exact same. I'm sure you'll love it with the gt. [sm=smiley20.gif]

I have the slps and have heard a GT with a home made straight pipe deal that your considering and there was no doubt that mine was louder, HOWEVER mine was also slightly more raspy. His was still much louder than stock and lacked some raspy-ness however it didnt convey that urgent screaming tone my pipes put out. KEEP IN MIND both of our setups have the o/r H pipe. I met this guy up at the drag strip and we defintely had the chance to compare the cars from many angles (revs, burnouts, full blown racing, etc). His pipes were made of a different material and also had different sized pipe at the end in comparison to mine. I have heard that this highly contributes to the sound/noise factor.
