I've even beat WRXs (not STIs, obviously) from a roll with my Marauder. Several times, actually. They're not so impressive. The STIs, on the other hand, are really quick. I don't think I could take one even with my GT; I'm not a good enough driver.

I used to own a WRX before my mustang, the mustang is incredibally faster. i raced a 2005 subaru WRX and STi... i dont have many mods but its enough to hang with the STi. When i raced the WRX it was from a roll at 45. It was like he didnt even hit the pedal, it was slow as hell. got him by like 6 cars to 90, maybe more. When i raced the STi i raced it off the line (we only raced to about 70) he got me to 30-35 by a car length and then started to even out and by 2nd gear i was dead even with him and right before i hit 3rd gear i was pullinga very small amounton him. then it was over i talked to him and all he had done was a turbo back exhaust.

Yeah from what Ive read the WRX is stock 22x hp but thats with the turbo I believe lol. They are really light and quick out of the hole. He will jump on you but you'd drag his *** down the road pretty quick. The turbo they come stock with can push as much as 13.5 psi. My buddys was already moded when he bought it. The previous owner just gave him a list of mods that ill take a look at later. Im not too much on ricers[:@]

RE: wrx
might have a turbo or something
Currently, only the Outback is available in a 6cyl. Rumor has it Subaru will offer the 6cyl. engine in a turbo in 2008-2009. If true, I estimate 350hp off the lot.

You know, I would say in a straight line, WRX against a GT, the GT would probably win...WRX STI vs. GT, the GT would probably lose.
Road course?
WRX, whether it's an STI or not, would eat the GT alive. These cars were made to handle; they're based upon the World Rally Championships that Subaru has held in high esteem for quite some time. I saw the AWD vehicles CONSISTENTLY outhandle almost all ofthe RWD vehicles in an autocross at Qualcomm stadium several years ago, when there was a torrential downpour for the SCCA Nationals tour. The RWDs were sliding, fishtailing, hydroplaning...The WRXes and Evolution AWDs were just gripping the corners and going.

I have a 07 GT 5 speed. I raced and beat a WRX STI, it was on a 4 lane highway. He was winning at first, but I took him at about 60 mph, he tried untill the next light. Got the car up to about 120 mph. FUN!
