Me V.S. Ford = A new Mustang
So not sure this belongs here, but this is the only place I post concering the s197.
So I bought a new 06 GT, or so I thought. I have had it 7 months and found out that theres has been
at least $2k worth of work on the drivers rear quarter etc...clear coat peeling, telagraphings, mottling on the front bumper and rear..all splotchy looking...they would have to paint the whole side of the car and the front and rear bumper to fix everything.
I told them not a chance, that would be about $3.5k-$4 worth of paint on a new car...forget it.
The warranty rep is out of town, and to make it worse I am moving out of state in 2 days...
The warranty rep here is suppose to contact the new rep and work it all out.
All I can say is BUY BACK....even the Ser Manger agrees...
08 here I come.

Yep, it sucks...b/c I love my car and the color and the 08 don't have Tungsten but they have a new replacement color called Vapor...which I haven't seen...
As far as fixing it goes, forget it...way to much paint work on a new car....the whole side and front and rear would have to be painted and blended with the fenders and hood and deck lid etc....
I'll keep you guys posted....

Not sure they are going to buy it back just because there are problems with the paint. I think you're going to have a tuff time with getting them to do that.

Especially with the quality of what remains, the whole panel is a different color...and with the clear pealing it gives me plenty of ammo...not to mention the other problems I am having with the car...long story but an other dealer hacked it up real good when I went in for service...

i'm with ya svt.....you paid a premium for
this car, you want it to be perfect from the
factory, you want to maintain it in it's pristine
form for 15-20 years....
i hope it works out for you

Thanks, I know it will.
I just contacted a Lawyer who handles cases like this.
Once I hear from the Ford Rep I will listen to what she has to say etc, explain my case and my stance, and if I don't like what I hear I let the Lawyer handle it.
Not to mention I am a real *** hole when it comes to this stuff....I will stand out in front of the dealer...regardless of what state I am in...with a sign that reads "Ask me about my "new" Mustang" and spill the beans to all who listen!

I think you are correct to demand a replacement, it ticks me off to hear of people being ripped off these days....I will say though, I think you'll have better luck letting the lawyer deal with it, than the sign in front of a dealership.....
