Default How fast is your DD?

Well I put mine through the ultimate test yesterday. Drove 140 miles to Famoso. The temp was 109º when the track opened at 6:00 pm.

I changed tires, ran this....

Changed tires again at the end of the night, and drove 140 miles back home. A TRUE DD - no weight shaving at all.

It is amazing how well these mod motors take to pretty severe modifications and drive so well as a DD. People keep talking about how fragile these motors are, considering what the engine has to adhere to emissions wise etc I think these engines are pretty stout. I drive 2 hours to the track one way, let her cool down, beat the hell out of it for 6 hours then drive it home again. People knock Ford for using cheap materials for the inside, not painting the bottom or rear end etc, they put the goods where it counts IMHO.

Your car rocks ChevyKiller, nice runs.

Yeah, I run MT slicks and have a KB @ 14 psi for now. I am curious too what it would pull spinning on streets and plan on trying it next time I am at the 1/4. All my local tracks ar 1/8 mile so I just wanted to get a 1/4 slip and made the drive. Next time, I'll try it on the streets before I chanage to the slicks.

I have a 2.3 L honda accord for my DD i drove it for two weeks straight without driving my stang. And it was such a thrill i thought i was on the third turn at daytona. It felt like a rocket ship. My DD is not very fast at all id be surprised if it broke 17s at the track LOL

A guy I know had an '86 Mustang LX that ran 11.1@121 and tried his luck with street tires, it ran 13.9@126 and most of the run was the back trying to pass the front, he said it scared the living sh*t out of him and he never did it again.
