windows up or down?
i personally always have my windows down and was wondering if gas miliage is better with the AC on, or the windows down. Im not sure how much gas the AC uses, but with the windows are down there is more resistence on the car, there by using more power/gas.so im interested to hear everyones replys.
Mythbusters did a test on this. I believe one wins out above 55, and one wins out below 55. The difference though is very tiny, so you can really do whatever you like.
I got a little flyer in the mail from Ford that said that AC on is better for MPG.

Microsoft Windows? always down..haha anyways I did hear that you will get better MPG with your ac on rather than opening the windows with your ac off only because if you think about it it acts like a parachute with your windows down. The air going to the back has nowhere to escape. That was always my take on it.

On the weekends on a cruise windows down no matter where to enjoy that feeling of being out doors, but normally on the highway i have the windows up .... but around town always down unless its friday or saturday night to make sure my music isn't overbearing.
I haven't really seen any increase/decrease between the two. Here in the Phoenix area you will probably use your AC most of the time in the summer because it gets so hot.
