Default Airaid CAI for V6

I can get one of these for $225. I dont plan on getting a tune
at this point in time. Any recommendations for a V6 CAI that
does not require a tune? K&N Typhoon?

I know the Granatelli Intake does not require a tune.

I was informed by the seller that a tune was not needed.
Whats the point if you are still operating under the stock
tune parameters? They claim 15hp boost, but without a
tune?

When I had a V6 I had an Airaid CAI and I was very happy with it. It was very easy to install and did not require a tune. I did not do a dyno to see the exact gains but the "butt dyno" told me that performance was definitely increased. My favorite part of it was that my MPG increased by about 2 MPG. Hope this helps.

you wont get 15....especially on a 6.....I would say you will get 8 or less in all reality

The claim was 12 and I expected about half that without a tune.
So 6 sounds about right. Looking for the CAI sound also.
Was looking at the K&Ns but could not see $299 for a Typhoon.
But maybe a tune in the future with this Airaid?

I believe also the Airaid CAI has a piece inside that you can remove to greatly increase the airflow when you are ready for a tune, which is where you will see the real significant gains.

Also, C&L now puts a piece to restrict airflow in their street CAI so that you can run it without a tune and then remove the inner piece to increase airflow when you go the tuned route. More food for thought...
