I was told by a galhpin ford sales man that the reason my auto gt does not chirp into second and i cant rev in Neural and drop it into Drive is because of the governer. what can i do about it? also does revving in N shifting in D realy that bad for the car (tranny)? Do i need a chip?

 

best thing to get is a intake and tune.

DONT rev up in nuetrual and then drop it. you will kill your tranny

 

If you want to launch your auto harder than brake torque it. Never do neutral slams unless you like buying new transmissions.

Get a CAI and tune if you want to chirp through the shifts. I have the C&L Racer and a B amachips tuned X2 and I chirp on the 1-2 shift and the 2-3 shift.

 

+2 not good for your tranny!!!!

 

+3 Neutral slams are very bad.

 

Not only bad on the tranny, but also bad on the rear end, drive shaftand motor mounts. Pretty expensive just to show off.

 

Of the Ford cars I owned/driven.The autos could never Netual Slam. This is only the way back to a 1974 Ford Trino (sp)

Now GM cars can Netual Slam. And Yes not good for the tranny. Had to get a new/rebuild tranny and engin for a 1970 Lemans 400 4 bbl carb. Had to step down to a 350 motor. Sold the car right afterwards.

 

get a stall converter to do the same effect as your neutral slams without the damage and atrans tune will firm the shifts. we have 2 gts, one runs 12s and the other 13.50s and both will chirp the tires shifting into 2nd 3rd and 4th.
