HELP, first mod going to hell
I have a 2005 Gt, Auto. I installed the C&L CAI with a 91 octane tune yesterday. There seemed to be some excessive rattling going on in the engine, but other than that it ran fine. today, I decided to reload he tune. the rattling stopped and I was delighted. However after driving for about half a block, the car went into failsafe mode and the engine quit. I reloaded the tune and it again went about half a block and quit running. HELP, what the hell is going on !!

Wasn't there a post about cars going into 'failsafe' mode when the MAF is installed backwards? I am no mechanic but I thought it happened to someone else also.

Are you running 91octane with that 91 octane tune?
Who did you get the tune from?(I would go to Brenspeed or B.amachips or VMP)
Make sure your MAF is positioned correctly it is possible to install backwards, check all CAI connections make sure they are tight. Return to stock if problem still exsists after H/W check and see if problem still exsists.
Are you sure this isnt a repost? This looks awfully familiar. I rememebr something about a rattle which may actually be pinging which is why I asked about the octane rating thats being run.

RE: HELP, first mod going to hell
I found the problem.
It was Rats.
Let me explain, Yesterday, I installed the CAI and loaded the tune. I PROPERLY re-connected everything and plugged everything back to where it is suppose to be . At one point during the night, a rat must have crawled under my hood, pulled back on the red tab that secures the MAS to its housing and gently pulled back on it, as not to damage the wiring. I just cant figure out how it did not leave teeth marks!

This is the only thing it could be. So,I have to call an exterminator in order to prevent this from happening again.
