you are not going to get the gain if your running too lean. I had to add 5% more fuel when I installed my headers and mine produced the most power at 12.8% a/f you may easily gain 25 horses with a better tune

I assume thats for the poster but I did notice it was replyed to me, I feel 100% comfortable with my tuner and feel we are just fine. Heck we could of pulled 50-60 more hp out of my tune with the same psi. But that would put me at 450 on a mustang dyno and close to 500 on a dyno jet, which is not where I wanted to be. I wanted to be around 400 rwhp on a mustang dyno. We also stoped the pull at 5100 rpm, so I am sure if we would of gone to 6200 we would of saw 20-25 more rwhp

1) 13.8 is way too lean.
2) If you have a CEL light on, the car could be running in "limp-home-mode". I'm not sure about the Spanish Oak processor in our cars, but my other car would do the same thing with certain CEL's. Basically, it either adds WAY too much fuel or cuts WAY too much timing (or both) depending on what CEL's you have. Get rid of the CEL and try it again.

I finally had some American Racing longtube headers installed today (along with some Steeda underdrive pulleys). This makes my current mod list the following:

American Racing Longtube Headers + Catted H-Pipe
Borla Stingers
C&L Cold Air Intake
93 Octane Mail Order Tune
Steeda Underdrive Pulleys
FRPP 3.73 Gears

I’ll give the good news first. The car sounds pretty incredible now. Definitely more bad *** with the headers. There are all sorts of sounds coming from the engine and exhaust that I’ve never heard before. It is deeper, I hear more of a growl, and the car all around sounds more pissed off. I am getting some trumpeting (that farty/raspy sound you momentarily heard at times), which I wasn’t expecting with the cats, but maybe this could be prevented with something other than a straight through muffler. Other than that, I am very impressed with the sound.

The bad news would be my dyno results (attached). Only 265 peak HP. My car is automatic, but I was expecting more along the lines of 290. Any thoughts on why my HP was so low? The lowest stock HP for automatic I have heard is about 240 (although I have heard people getting in the 250s). If you assume I was low at 240, that would mean the CAI and tune gave me 25, but I got NOTHING from the headers or UDPs.

As if the peak HP wasn’t bad enough, I am running lean at 13.6. When they took the car for a test drive before the longtube install, he thought he heard some pinging at WOT, which I hadn’t noticed, so I was lean even before the headers.

Could something be wrong here? Weather was hot (92 degrees) and humid today, but these numbers are SAE corrected, so the weather shouldn’t matter. Any other explanations on why I am so low?

Also, since I am already so lean, is there any more power to be had from a new tune?

something does not seem right to me....that is way low...heck I was getting 300.8 and 304 torque with cai tune and headers etc///no UDP....by the way here is my dyno sheet b4 someone accuses me of inflating numbers...and it was from a reputable shop in Brandon on a Dynometer....r us sure they dynoed in 4th??? the sheet does not look right...looks like they started the pull too late...you were already over 3500 before the pull started...did he lock your car out in 4th as well....just does not seem even remotely close to what it should....go check it somewhere else....

Thanks for the help everyone. I talked to the tuner and he said he would adjust my tune. Since the car is so lean, won't adding fuel bump up my power output, just like 06tyrfryr said?

In reponse to other questions, the longtubes are 1 5/8" and the dyno was a Dynojet..

The CEL was on due to the lack of rear 02 sensors (the install kit didn't come with extensions). Does anyone know if the code for the rear 02 sensors will put the car in limp-mode?

Someone mentioned the curves are crossing in the wrong place. Is it supposed to cross at 5252 RPMs on a chassis dyno?
