Sucks, hope it all works out.

Teach ya to drive on bald tires! When its the only thing making contact with the road I want to make sure I got the best thing that will help me stop and make aggressive emergency maneuvers if needed.
Really sucks is you had tires on order! ouch!

Insurance wanted to tget it to a body shop for a tear down... I sent it to the dealer i bought it from... They have always been nice to our family but here's a couple tear down pics. Insurance Co. is sending out another appraiser tomorrow to check it out. The engine starts and runs just fine! I was driven into the work bay.

Did he give you a copy of the initial $14,500 appraisal? After the tear down do you see anything he missed? Generally you can also add $500 to $1000 just for material and labor supplemental ...

[:@] It's in the body shop now waiting on parts and have the front frame rails straightened ...

I know you don't want it totaled ... but by the time they add the supplemental, your rental car fees and your diminished value settlement it's probably gonna be a total loss ...

The total loss guidelines vary by state ... but in Georgia repairs must be 75% of cars Actual Cash Value to be declared a total loss. NADA on my Yellow car is $19,000 retail and they told me they needed $14,500 to total it .. (I couldn't believe it myself but the NADA website does indicate 18,000 to $20,000 with my mileage and options on a V6. The MSRP was only $22,000.)
