15k Maintenance
Do I have to take my car in to Ford for the 15k Maintenance or can I take it to my local garage ? I want to play by the rules with Ford, My Father had problems with Dodge Voiding his warranty because of a single part that did not say Dodge on it back in the 90s. One reason I would like to take it to my Local garage is my closest Ford Dealer is going to charge me over $300 for the 15k Check Up.

I was faced with the same dilemma - but look at your manual for the 15K mile checkup. Basically, it's an oil change and a lot of "inspections" (i.e., a tech "looks" at things). My dealership wanted $150 for the privilege. That's BS. Any mechanic can do the 15K mile checkup, so I say you're OK.

RE: 15k Maintenance
I have a 2007 Hemi Dodge and without me even asking the question, my dealer told me that I didn't need to have lube or looksee inspections done by them although it'd be a good idea to change the oil as recommended, with good oil, and keep receipts as proof, just in case.
Ford are being somewhat more **** lately I hear thoughso the best thing is to check with them directly. It seems like you're asking for trouble but in reality it's the only way you'll know for sure.

Yea, but it's little about what's involved,it's about what happens to the warranty if you don't have the work done at Fords.
As we know, sticking a CAI on a car can be all a garage needs to refuse warranty work on items totally unrelated to the CAI. Before I had the S/C fitted, I made sure all my work was Ford sourced (CAI, Tune, Suspension) to maintain the warranty. Now I have the Blower, I know they'll baulk at even the slightest suggestion of warranty work so I won't be bothering to even have them do lube services on it

Stealership and you might get a few new scratches and dings
you didnt want. $300 is way out there. Have them break the
charges down for you so you can see what they are charging

RE: 15k Maintenance
I work for a car marketing company and 15k's are BS, it is PURE profit for the dealer. Get your oil changed, tires rotated (if neccessary) and a normal inspection. At 30k do the same thing, except have EVERYTHING "inspected", it will cost a little less than 100 bucks unless they find something crazy. Don't ever let anyone sell you a "fluid flush" before 60k, its all pure markup. Trust me on this one. Your warrenty cannot be voided for not showing up and paying the dealer for a 15 or 30k, I checked this with my service manager.

Now... although you can not void your warrenty by going somewhere else, I still would HIGHLY suggest going to the dealer because if they do something wrong or find something wrong they are responseable. Shops can screw you over, and in my last car I was without it for two months because they put on the timing belt wrong and blew the entire engine, but because their insurance was gay.... it took longer to repair. Get it done right... at the dealership. Thats our motto at work, just ignore the few times that they try to price gouge you. This is my advice.
