Default yet another hood pins thread

just got a set cuz im tired of hood rattle. got 'em from pep boys, 12.99 for the pin set (all stainless steel), and 4.99 for the lanyards (plastic coated). so experts, here are my questions:

1) i found a spot a bit up and to the right of the outter rubber stoppers the hood rests onthat you can just screw the pins i got into without drilling, i still intend to use the nuts, but what does everyone think of this location?

2) after you drill thru your hood, do you have to do anything to treat the metal around the holes so that they don't rust, or the paint doesn't peel away, etc?

thanks!!!!!

Why is your hood rattling? I think you can adjust the rests (rubber stoppers) if that would keep you from drilling into the hood. I am not a fan of hood pins, but if you are to install these, at least they would be operational, not "paste on's". Good luck!

Hood shake on these cars is unnerving. Try it on a banked oval at 145

You should coat any metal showing. Have you tried adjusting the stops. Might want to try it before you drill your hood unless you really want the pins.

The hoods are Aluminum so they won't rust, paint the hole you drill under the hood
