Default Corner Light Removal Question

For those who have removed the orange corner lights in the past:

I am going to either change them to clear or tint them.
I have lifted the car, got underneath it and found the 2 plastic "spreaders" that hold the housing in place.
However I don't know how to squeeze them to pop the light out of the bumper,.
Can someone please chime in on what tool/technique did you use to get get them out?

Thanks

A long pair of needle noses should work. The tabs pinch in and the light comes out from those two clips and slids out of the other end.

And I think clear would look best. IMO

That is what I tried to begin with, but just couldn't accomplish the task with 1 set of hands...
Anyone tried locking pliers?

+1 on the needle nose pliers. That's what I did....But, I did not approach from the bottom. I turned the steering wheel all the way toward the side I was working on, removed about three screws from the fender liner, peeled it back, and viola, there is the light fixture.....

May be why you are struggling to get the right angle......

The drivers side is a tight fit. I agree with mlcryccand removed the splash gaurd fronts and that should make it easier.

heres a detailed set of instructions with pics from another forum that someone once linked to from here: http://forums.bradbarnett.net/showth...=brake+install

the guy who made the tutorial said he used a pair of pliers to squeeze one of the clips and a flathead screwdriver to pry out the lens enough so that the clip wouldn't snap back into place, then use the pliers on the other clip and the lens should pop out pretty easy.

Just like Mike said do it this way and you can use your fingers to squeeze them together. Much better angle, You will be done in 5 min each side.
