Default window tint scratching

Ok, so for those who have had their windows tinted, and have had scratches, are the scratches really noticable? I remember reading on someone's thread you can only see it from the inside. Over time, will it eventually scratch off all the tint? I'm about to tint my windows Monday, but I don't have moleskin yet. I also know some people haven't even gotten moleskin and have had no scratches at all, but I know that's really rare.

There's many threads on many forums about this. 99% of the responses get the scratches. I always cleaned my windows, and still got the scratches. I recently had the tint replaced, but got the moleskin first, (followed Taco Bill's excellent writeup), and haven't had a problem since.

Are they noticible? LOL you can see mine from outside the car they are so scratched up. Ill take a pic and let you see them tomm. Its so bad that I believe the window is scratched, and in that case ford will replace my windows. Ford has replaced my tint once and now that I have moleskin they are going to replace them again.

Yes, its noticeable. Take care of it with felt or moleskin.

Save youself the headache and install the moleskin. The cost is like 20 bucks and max 1 hour of your time, well worth the effort. I installed moleskin a year ago and never had a problem with my tint and I raise and lower my windows often.

Get the felt/mole skininstalled. Any tint installer worth his salt should have this in stock. If not then find someone else, and do not let them cut the rubber wiper. Some installers do this rather then installing the felt/mole skin. I had the felt installed with my tint back in Jan. 2005 andI dont have anyscratches. I have read to many threads about installers not installing this and all of the issues they had afterward.

I had mine done a few weeks ago and the car has been at the shop or in the garage (lots of rain), I have the mole skin in the garage, sounds like the project for the day!
