Default Thunk

Okay, at first i thought this might be the same thunk noise people are hearing from their front suspension but today it happened while the car was dead stop, in neutral, with the e brake on. Within a short time of starting up the engine, a metallic thunk noise came from the front of my car and seeing as it was stopped i seriously doubt its suspension related. It has happened before, and varies in loudness from barely audible to the loud thunk described above. I might take it in to the dealership for a looksy butjust in case im being paranoid abouta normalengine/transmission noise is thereany ideas on whats going on???

Thanks in advance!!!

Sounds like its heat-expansion related to me; perhaps caused by a loose exhaust fitting somewhere.

Was your airconditioning working? My AC compressor comes on with an audible, metallic sounding 'click'. Because the AC compressor is working intermittently, it does that every now and then.

Switch AC off, see if it's still there.

Automatic? happens to me sometimes too if soo. Sometimes while at a stop but really loud thunks when changing the gears. I was told this is normal but ive never heard a car shift so loud.

EDIT: NVM saw you have a short throw can tbe the same problem then.
