open headlight buckets for S197

RE: open headlight buckets for S197
IMO the plastic covering, which is shiny of course, gives a fancier look to what are dull and ugly headlights. The reflection off of the lenses give a much more sophisticated look. Sure, maybe paint the inside of the headlights, but that lense means a lot to making these cars look a bit fancier.

At one time I had painted head lights on my car. Log story short dealer wreaked my car on their lot and refused to paint a damaged head light. I would be intrested in purchasing any of these. If anyone has a DIY way to take the cover off left me know.Attached is a picture of the remaining headlight.

RE: open headlight buckets for S197
I like the aerodynamic and protective functions of the clear shields, but would like to have the "look" of open buckets. This photo was taken with a polarizer on the camera lens, and eliminates reflections in certain planes, effectively "disappearing" the covers.
I have a piece of art on my wall that is covered with special glass, anti-UV and anti- reflective. You can't see there is glass there from just about any angle. I have some new eyeglasses that have an anti-reflective coating, and for the most part, it works: almost no reflections in the lenses.
So, what I suggest is that the technologies could be blended so you could end up with a protected headlamp that looks as if it is out there in open air. Might even gain a few useful lumens by letting the light escape without hindrance.
Think it would work?

A guy here on LI did this to his car 2 years ago. It came out really nice. I tried to do it to mine but I screwed up by keeping the lights in the oven too long. Fortunately I had purchased a replacement set to practice on first.

I think that looks gay as all get out. I had a 69 Fastback, but something is terribly wrong here.
