Default Engine Dress up

Okay, so I went to a car show yesterday at Bear Mountain (about 45 minutes upstate from NYC) and I realized that my engine was:

1. Dirty [&:]
2. BORING!!

Needless to say, that gotta change... My questions are 1. What do you use to clean your engine compartment? So far I've heard just any all purpose cleaner and some armor all.

AND 2. I really wanna jazz it up for when I pop the hood, so what have you guys done?

I'm ordering this today, and I'm gonna take it to a guy that does custom graphics:

New valve covers are also an option, but too pricey right now.

What else can I do to throw some more pizzaz under there[8D]?

Great looking vehicle. Congrats.

Question:
I too have considered the plenum cover. However, does it not lead to building higher engine temperatures, by trapping heat directly over the engine?

Any good place to get some multi color choice hoses, etc?

I was just gonna ask that!

Oh and I've never heard of excessive heat, but if it does, I won't order it.

MGW stuff ... it's all top notch. I know UPR has some things for engine dress up too (fuse box cover, radiator cover, etc).

hey.. also... depending on how old your car is.. (mines an 07, had it for about 2/3 months now.. ) pick up some mothers mag/aluminum polish.. and try polishing the valve covers.. it makes them look 100x better and its a cheaper alternative for now untill we can afford the chrome/painted ones..

heres a pic of after i started to do it..

just the left part was polished at that point..
