Well, was looking under the hood and found this dangling.

It has two numbers written on it: 5w7t-18801-aa and pbt-gf30

It has a single lead that gets buried back into a wiring harness.

I googled both numbers and the first one didn't return anything but found various threads with the pbt-gf30 number thattalk variously about the 90mm Lightning MAF, which I have.

It looks like the metal tab is supposed to be connected to something??

TIA!!

There's another one on the passemger side.
They are resistors. Not sure what there purpose is but I had to tie an intercooler water pump relay into one of them.
That metal tab needs to be bolted to ground in order for it to work. A resistor always has two connections...

Yeah, the douchbag that installed the SC! First I found they didn't clamp the radiator hose to the motor - found a stream of coolant under my car in a shopping center where luckily there was a parts shop!

Thanks guys, I'll bolt that bish back on! Appreciate the help & pic!

It looks like a resistor. It need to be grounded. One of its purposes is to reduce electrical noise in the audio system. There are probably other things they do too.

Alright, I'll bite. What's a whichit clip?

I found a place to bolt it down that's only 0.3 ohms difference from where the other one's bolted down and test drove. With that bolted back on and with the new el-cheapo (Steeda) oil separator, the car sounds growlier [8D]

They look like radio interference resistors, without them you could hear alternator whine in the radio. I'm not 100%, but that's what I would guess they are, either way, whatever it is, itdoesn't appear to work without a ground.
