When my car was stock except for exhaust(2007,5-speed,3.31 rear end) I took it to test and tune at the local 1/4 mile track. I had a friend with a 99 LS1 Trans Am who wanted to race me. He ran a consistant 13.6/13.7 all night stock and I couldn't go any faster than a 14.1. I tried running 7 times with different launches and nothing would change. At the time I had a loaner Hypertech from one of my vendors. I decided to challange him again on a back road Sunday. I now have just a MMR CAI and a Diablosport with a 93 perf. B@ma tune. We raced 3 times, 2 times from a roll (20mph) and once from a stop. I pulled on him EVERY time up until 120mph where we let off! He didn't even stand a chance. I will be running at the track again Sat. and will post my numbers. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on here for the advice on doing the CAI/TUNE as the first mod. Also would like to tell everyonethat the mail order tunes from Doug are worth every penny.
I know I read somewhere that the 07 GT was a heavier car that 05 and 06. Some people write that they had stock times of 13.7-13.9. I thought still I could do better than a 14.1. Hell, my 88 lx 5.0 did that stock. About the rear end gears, I heard from somewhere that FRPP and Motive are the same and then I also heard they are not. Has this been put to a close yet? The FRPP are only $20 higher
